Research

My research examines the links between the environment and economic well-being, particularly in developing-country contexts. I use applied microeconometric methods to study climate and agricultural productivity, conservation and rural development, and environmental determinants of human capital.

Research areas

Climate and agricultural productivity

Research on how heat, water scarcity, adaptation, and production systems shape agricultural productivity.

Conservation and economic development

Research on the causal effects of protected areas and other conservation policies on local economic outcomes.

Environment and human capital

Research on how environmental exposures, including heat and air pollution, affect educational and other human-capital outcomes.
